Now is not the time to get comfortable! Major Raven Onyx Armstrong was patient woman but if she was walking by and saw soldiers in training out of position, she had to correct them. It wasn't a strong dislike of hers but it was a pet peeve. She wasn't a perfectionist but at the same time she had to give Soldiers in Training a hard time. It was the best part of being in the Military. Besides, she was in that position at one point too. The Soldiers lined back up just as their Drill Sergent was returning so they didn't get caught. Raven gave them all a light glare before walking out of the field. She walked upright and paced her steps. Something that was drilled into her head that came as second nature. Especially when she was in her uniform. Raven's golden eyes shimmered in the sun light. Something caught her eye off to the left and she glanced across the road to see a small ball of white flying towards her. Squinting her eyes, Raven tried to make out what it was. A soft smile curled across her lips once she realized the tiny white creature flying towards her. "Hey there, Kurai. Welcome back." Kurai was an unknown creature who Raven thought to be a new generation of Chimera. She was small enough to fit into the palm of her hand. Kurai purred and landed on Raven's shoulder as she continued walking. Kurai resembled a baby dragon in just about every way but just about everyone at Fort Jackson knew of her existence and allowed Raven to keep her. Currently, Kurai was Raven's only friend. Walking down the street, there were Soldiers who had just graduated from their Training who stopped and Saluted her after taking a second glance at the creature on the Major's shoulder. Many graduates had families with them walking at their left side in case of the event where they may need to salute. The Cretan Military was, as she would like to think, the most powerful. All the trained Soldiers were trained by the best and moving on to more training and to be put to work. Major Armstrong wasn't always at Fort Jackson either but she was sent to check on progress and see the proud new graduates. Many Sergeants weren't fond of Major Armstrong because she was made a Major just because she had become a State Alchemist which was rare in Creta. So far from what she had seen from walking around, the Cretan Military was doing alright at least at this post. She wasn't going to give them a hard time on her graduation day since they had their families with them. Kurai stood proudly on Raven's shoulders as if she demanded respect as well just for being the pet to Major Armstrong. When she glanced over, Raven noticed Kurai sitting with her head up and chest out in a sturdy and proud stance. Chuckling, Raven rose a hand and gently rubbed the top of Kurai's tiny head. "You're too much, Kurai. You know that?" Wednesdays. One of the days Raven hated most. It was the middle of the week and usually never anything to do besides the usual duties. There were no reports on Homunculus activity so she had a little bit of freedom until she was needed again. Most of the Homunculi were in Amestris anyway. Or so she thought. Homunculus were after one thing lately. The Seal of Suitai. A green stone much like the Philosopher's Stone but this one granted Homunculus the ability to preform basic Alchemy and enhance their skills. Little did anyone know that their very own Major Armstrong had one of her own. She found it on the corpse of a Boar Chimera she killed months ago. Raven hasn't told anyone yet. Grazing a hand over her pocket, she outlined the shard in her pocket with every intention of handing it over to her commanding officer as soon as she got back.
